Parent advocacy of their own children’s talents and interests is critical in the 21st century  partnership role with home and school.  Teachers rely on input from parents and students themselves in creating and gathering the most appropriate learning opportunities, classroom environments and support resources. In addition, ongoing dialogue with parents helps to inform teachers about how to best support the learning process, and make sense of assessment evidence shown by student performance in class.
